What Happens When You SMILE.

What Happens When You SMILE.
July 27, 2020Kehoe Family ChiropracticLiving the Chiropractic Lifestyle

Have you ever been in a bad mood and someone forced you to smile? Chances are if you wanted to or not, you started to feel happier.  Well that’s because a burst of feel-good hormones are released when you turn up the corners of your mouth.
A smile releases dopamine, a neurotransmitter that allows our brain to become our own personal cheerleader. Dopamine lifts our mood and reduces depression and anxiety.
A smile also releases serotonin which not only calms us but stimulates our immune system and healing.  This is why someone always heals and recovers faster in a positive, happy environment.

A smile is also contagious because most people will begin to smile when they see someone else smiling. One smile can start a feel good, immune boosting, stress lowering party in your body – so pass it on!

FAQs

Every doctor of chiropractic has completed 4,200 hours of classroom, laboratory and clinical experience in the areas of orthopedics, neurology, physiology, human anatomy, clinical diagnosis, diagnostic imaging, exercise, nutrition, rehabilitation and more. Most chiropractic students have an additional undergraduate bachelor’s degree in pre-med studies. This makes the education for doctors of chiropractic among the most stringent of any of the health care professions.

However, there are some variations between chiropractic colleges. Some have more emphasis on developing highly skilled adjusters and there are also differences between doctors of chiropractic and their desire to become proficiently skilled in their adjusting techniques. At Kehoe Family Chiropractic the doctors have invested further resources beyond what is standard in order to become skilled in the Gonstead technique. What’s more is that the doctors at Kehoe Family Chiropractic are passionate about their work and consider it a blessing to be able to help so many people experience better health and vitality. Perhaps that is why we are so different? Regardless, we are glad you noticed.

The function of your spine can influence the way your brain perceives what is going on in your body. When you have a misalignment in your spine, it affects the way your brain tells your body to move. Chiropractic care helps restore motion and improves the way your body functions. This not only helps switch off pain sensors in the brain but can also produce specific neurotransmitters that help your body work better too. The result is optimal function and feeling great!
