What Happens When You SMILE.

Have you ever been in a bad mood and someone forced you to smile? Chances are if you wanted to or not, you started to feel happier. Well that’s because a burst of feel-good hormones are released when you turn up the corners of your mouth.
A smile releases dopamine, a neurotransmitter that allows our brain to become our own personal cheerleader. Dopamine lifts our mood and reduces depression and anxiety.
A smile also releases serotonin which not only calms us but stimulates our immune system and healing. This is why someone always heals and recovers faster in a positive, happy environment.
A smile is also contagious because most people will begin to smile when they see someone else smiling. One smile can start a feel good, immune boosting, stress lowering party in your body – so pass it on!
