Health is optimal physical, mental and social well-being; not merely the absence of pain, disease or illness.         Dorland’s Medical Dictionary

What is Chiropractic?How Chiropractic works:

1) The body is a self-healing, self-regulating organism.

2) The nervous system controls the function of every cell, tissue, and organ in the body.

3) Physical, chemical & emotional stress can cause vertebral subluxations (see description below) to develop in the spine.

4) Subluxations prevent the nervous system from functioning normally, therefore affecting                      human performance & overall health.

Chiropractors use their hands to adjust subluxations back to their natural position. This restores the normal flow of messages through the nervous system. When these messages are able to flow freely from the brain to the body, optimum health and life expression are experienced!

Subluxations usually go undetected for years.  By the time you are feeling pain, it is highly probable that you have had a subluxation for sometime.

This is why it is especially important to have your spine evaluated before SYMPTOMS appear.

The longer you go with a subluxation, the more time and effort it takes to correct it.

Don’t let your body get to the phase of spinal deterioration.

Healthy Alignment

Here are two vertebrae, (bones in your spine) connected with a disc and a nerve. The vertebrae are aligned properly, one on top of the other. The disc doesn't bulge and the nerve is not pinched. The connection between brain and the rest of the body are “free” at this particular level and there is no interference in communication between the brain and the body.

In the case of a subluxation, the vertebra on top has slightly misaligned on the one below. This causes the disc to bulge, tissues to be irritated and pressure is put on the nerve. Dysfunction is caused to any or all of the cells, tissues or organs that nerve travels to.  Trauma,  (a fall, sitting too long, pulling on an infant during childbirth), Stress (work, relationships) and Chemicals  (smoking, drinking, drugs); can all be contributing factors that cause a subluxation.

Severe Deterioration

These two vertebrae have been misaligned for years. The disc has deteriorated and bone spurs have formed. The nerve damage and damage to muscles, ligaments and tendons are causing chronic pain and ill health.

Chiropractic care can help relieve the symptoms of tissue damage and prevent further degeneration in the spine.
